Our Team
SUP Provo is devoted to offering an engaging, educational, and fun paddle board and kayak tour experience through the mangrove islands of Turks and Caicos.
Our guides are passionate, friendly, and fun. They are trained to provide the most comprehensive, enjoyable, and safe paddle boarding and kayak tours.
They will start with an introduction to paddling before every tour so first-timers feel comfortable and build their paddling confidence.
Our guides love Mangrove Island and do their best to preserve it so visitors of Turks and Caicos can keep enjoying it for years to come. This is why they will advise you not to touch the wildlife, to avoid stepping on the ground in order not to disturb this very interconnected ecosystem, and they’ll help you master your craft so you don’t crash into the mangrove and break its branches. 🙂
When our team of eco guides is not paddling through the mangrove channels, they teach kiteboarding on Long Bay Beach through our sister company, KiteProvo.
Mike
As a Florida native, I have spent the majority of my life on the ocean. I’ve always been driven towards paddle boarding, kitesurfing, fishing, diving, free diving, snorkeling, surfing and exploring by boat. At the age of about 10, an abandoned paddleboard drifted into the canal waterway where I lived. Me and my best friend each had 1/2 off an old kayak paddle which we used to paddle us along as we explored miles of neighboring docks, beaches and canals. This board soon became a major centerpiece of my childhood as I had my first vessel to explore on. The great experiences I had on this board formed the foundation that later led to a career & the creation of this business- SUP Provo.
In 2012, I became an ASI (Academy of SUP instruction) certified Paddle boarding instructor through WSUPA (World Stand Up Paddleboard Association). Shortly after, I began doing paddleboard and kayak tours here in the Turks & Caicos. I encourage you to join us on our Mangrove Island ‘Turtle Tour’. Still to this day, it is the most magical paddle boarding experience I have ever been on.

Having grown up by the sea in Rhode Island, I’ve always been drawn to the water. I spent nearly all my free time in it, surfing, kiteboarding, diving, or out on a boat. It has always been my happy place.
During my four years at San Diego State, that connection only grew stronger. Since moving to Provo, though, I have come to understand the water in a new way, with the same love and passion but through a different lens. Here, I have seen how vital the mangroves are to the island’s health and beauty. I am excited to share that passion and play a part in protecting these special places.

Ruben Trejo – Eco-Tour Guide
I grew up in Venezuela close to the sea, where I have spent the majority of my childhood in the water, a lot of the time fishing.That early connection to the ocean and coastal life planted the seeds for a lifelong passion for watersports and marine environments.
As an Eco-Tour Guide with SupProvo, I love leading guests through the winding channels of Mangrove Cay, it’s the perfect place to share my enthusiasm for nature and introduce people to the stunning diversity of this protected ecosystem. Paddle tours are all about exploration, learning, and connecting with the incredible wildlife that calls these waters home. 
When I’m not guiding paddleboard tours, I stay active on the water as a certified IKO kitesurfing instructor and enjoy snorkeling and fishing. Some of my favorite wildlife encounters include spotting baby lemon sharks and sea turtles gliding through the clear turquoise channels, those are the moments that never fail to amaze both me and my guests.

Nature has always been a big part of my life, and living in Turks & Caicos allows me to share that passion every single day. As an eco tour guide at Mangrove Cay, I feel incredibly lucky to work in one of the most beautiful and untouched ecosystems in the Caribbean.
Our mangrove tours by stand-up paddleboard and kayak are more than just an adventure, they’re an experience of connection. The calm, crystal-clear waters of Mangrove Cay are full of life. While gliding quietly through the channels, we often see lemon sharks cruising beneath us, sea turtles coming up for air, and colorful fish moving through the roots of the mangroves.
The mangroves are truly an amazing place, they protect the island, nurture marine life, and offer a peaceful escape into nature. Every tour is different, and that’s what makes it so special. Sometimes we spot baby sharks resting in the shallows, sometimes rays passing by, and always an incredible variety of fish and birds.
For me, guiding is not just about showing wildlife, it’s about helping people slow down, appreciate the environment, and feel connected to the ocean. Whether you’re paddling for the first time or you’re an experienced adventurer, I love sharing this magical place and creating unforgettable memories on the water.
